Home Based Businesses Trump 9 to 5 Jobs

While rising gas prices continue to climb throughout the US, more and more people are looking to the future of home-based businesses. Recently, a poll was taken by the general population on the percentage of people who are interested in, or are researching the prospects of a home-based business. A staggering 45 percent are eager to start and another 40 percent are seeking information on a home-based business of their choice. If the 40 percent who have looked to start a home-based business begin within the next year and the eager 45 percent join in too,  that is over half of Americans who do not have to get out of their Pajamas in the mornings. Nor do they have to rush around to get the kids off to school before work. Sound refreshing? Eighty five percent of Americans think so!

This is good news for single parents and for families with two incomes as well. Being a parent can be hard enough, but throw in the stress of a hectic schedule and the overbearing power of the eight hour workday, and you've got a recipe for catastrophe. Independence is a major factor in a single parents life. Being prosperous at a job and bringing home the bacon at the same time, isn't easy these days and single parents will be the first to express that. With home-based businesses these parents are finding comfort in knowing that they have the freedom and flexibility to live their lives the way they want to.

Work From Home Medical Transcription Jobs

The medical field is one job area that will never be effected by any financial crisis and for this reason work from home medical transcription has become very popular. For some reason this area of work has become mistaken for a profession that requires little experience and will generate a high income. This kind of work is a true career and involves time and energy to build the desired earnings.

Medical transcriptionists must undergo extensive training in a wide range of things from physical anatomy to understanding Latin and Greek language derivatives. It is a highly specialized area and there is no easy way around this part which can take anywhere from 3 months to 1 year depending on the time dedicated to training. It is a good idea to research the training facility, physical or internet based, to ensure the reality of the school.

Once training has been completed, it may be a while before you are able to work from home. There are very few professionals that will hire someone with no experience to work outside of an office. It is realistic to expect that you will have to spend any where from 6 months to 1 year inside an office before you can be considered otherwise. It is very possible to find high earning positions in work from home medical transcription. However, it should be considered a medical career and as such, there are no short cuts to obtaining a job. Beware of Work at Home Scams

The charm, freedom, and the relaxed atmosphere presented by work at home opportunities have spawned fraudulent operators ready to fleece gullible greenhorns. Enthusiastic beginners entering the work at home field are willing to make initial small investment. They may not hesitate to pay some money to have access to job banks and business directories. Due to their eagerness and ignorance they are cheated by unscrupulous operators.

Scammers often advertise about making thousands of dollars in a week by doing data entry, transcription, writing, editing, translation projects. They charge $20-100 for allowing access to their jobs banks. Actually they do not have any valid job banks. All they have is dead links or links to job vacancies that have appeared in ten other places and anyone can have access to them at those places. If the tall claims of making thousands of dollars per week are not sufficient warnings then people should apply some common sense before paying these scammers. When highly paid regular jobs fetch only $5000-10,000 a month how is it possible to earn the same money in a week doing simple data entry work that requires no college education or special training?

And then there are scammers that would charge money to provide work at home jobs, not just job postings. They charge a fee to provide jobs. They do provide a project to work on for the first week or month. And when it comes to pay time they vanish or point out silly mistakes in the work done and deny payment. Normally, no hirer wants to hide his/her job vacancy posting and would like as many interested candidates as possible to view their posts. And no hirer or employer charges money to do his work. They may ask to do the job at a lesser rate if the worker is a first timer but never charge money for working for them.

The other type are those that will get work done and vanish without paying. These people are employers alright, but not good payers. They are not trustworthy. They may not be making a living like the first category of people solely out of cheating people, but they do have a pattern that makes them unable to meet their payment commitments. 

There are a few types of online business that mislead people. Some online businesses advertise in websites about making unbelievable amounts of money through their multi level marketing or unique selling concept. Often their websites are flooded with dubious testimonials. Remember, not every such marketing website makes false claims. But the picture of a widely grinning millionaire that may be seen on their websites, though genuine, is one among the thousands of marketers for the product or concept. So it is not wise to assume that everybody can reach that kind of income.

People advertising about the possibility of earning a fast buck are more interested in selling their books containing secrets of success, DVDs, and memberships. Those interested to work at home should be aware of such fraudulent or selfish operators. Though it is left to individual discretion for joining any business or job provider this valuable information should be borne in the mind while doing so.

Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3 "intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

First,you must have a strong WHY.

Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?

For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.
